This does not work. Our Intranet is not with a extension so it is http:\\ourintranet I can give it's ip with the no proxy for but there must be more adresses for no proxy so thats why i give: 150.0.* but when i read the info in your link then i understand that 150.0.* is not supported?..

Wildcards are not supported. You may also want to see FoxyProxy. It's an extension that has more flexible configuration options. Please also check the reviews, ratings, FAQs. There could also be other extensions with similar features.

Wildcards with a star are not supported.

Formats that are not accepted:
IP addresses with wildcards in quads 	10.*.*.* 

You need to use the CIDR notation like 150.0.0.0/8 to specify a range.

Ok i did that: 150.0.0.0/24 It looks that Firefox is not looking at the "do not use proxy for". Because when i type in the adres: http://ourintranet i get a blocking page from our safe application. This means firefox is trying to go to the outside world that is Internet, but the rule do not use proxy for is therefor that firefox is not go to the Internet but stays on the inside.

So why is it that firefox is ignoring that setting? Does firefox does not look at the host file? There is where the dns is arranged for ourintranet...

Please also try temporarily setting ourintranet or ourintranet.com in the No proxy for box and try to access http://ourintranet. If it is accessible, then probably the CIDR notation would have to be changed.

Yes then it works when i put intranet there. I must login everytime but ok it works. But when i fill in 150.0.2.0/24 and the server for ourintranet has 150.0.2.9 (also in the hostfile) what am i doiing wrong here?

After looking at the documentation for possible values and their effects: To block a (i use it not for blocking but for excuding to go to proxy server0 network example: 10.0.0/8 is not no proxy for intranets What does this mean? is not no proxy for intranets?

Also strange is when i put in 150.0.2.9 (real ipadress for the ourintranet server which must not go thru the proxyserver) is also not working...

The no proxy settings are for excluding addresses from going through the proxy. After entering 150.0.2.9, you can also try to enter 150.0.2.9 in the location (address) bar. If it works then most likely it is a DNS resolution issue. Firefox uses the OS settings unless specified otherwise. Contacting network/IT support would also be helpful to get the correct CIDR notation for the subnet.

Thx. I believe it is a DNS problem but it is strange that Firefox does not work with this way and IE is. The same settings are in IE. In the host file there is a entry 150.0.2.9 ourintranet Ipadress in the adres is working fine. I am from networking so: 150.0.2.0/24 must be correct when we want to exclude 150.0.2.9 to bypass the proxy, but it seems to me that Firefox is not working with this...

I'm not sure why it's not working. I think Firefox looks in the hosts file and then the configured/automatic DNS server for address resolution, in that order. To specify otherwise (for eg. a proxy for address resolution) the network.proxy.socks_remote_dns in about:config has to be set to true.

You can also check in a new profile. A new profile would have the default settings and wouldn't usually have any installed extensions and would be clean. You can try then try the proxy settings.

The 150.0.2.0/24 should work (24 bits for the network with 254 addresses - http://www.subnet-calculator.com/cidr.php) unless perhaps the network is super-netted in which case you can also try the supernet prefix instead of /24.

I have don a new installation and take over the IE settings for proxy. Firefox translates the proxysettings from 150.0.* to 150.0.0.0/16 But it looks that firefox ignores ip numbers in the no proxy for...When i put in the servername there is no problem but with ipnumbers it doesn't work.

If localhost or 127.0.0.1 is not present in the No proxy list, you can also try adding that. Please also try this: Bookmarks (Alt + B) > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Import data from Another Browser > Microsoft Internet Explorer > Next > Internet Options > Next > Finish.
