I understand that firefox 11 and 12 has mozilla maintanance service although ESR versions still execute updater.exe which prompt UAC. can you please advise me how to by pass this on windows 7. thank you

ESR is for organizations with their own IT department, so I would suggest talking to them about seeing if you can disable UAC on your machine. Otherwise, upgrade to Firefox 13
