importing bookmarks after installing upgrade OS

I upgraded my previous OS and Monzilla Firefox 18 was my default browser and the upgrade created a windows old folder which list my Firefox and it's components in the folder, but when I click / open / install to the newer OS it does not migrate my history or bookmarks that were in the browser before the Upgrade. How do I if possible get back the bookmarks that I previously had before the upgrade?

Keazen oplossing

I used the suggestion about the export to html which aloud me to save to my desktop and then I transferred that file via teamviewer from my laptop to my desktop W8 pro OS and imported the file directly to Firefox and the problem solved. Thank you for the timely info:
