Firefox not auto-filling passwords that it has saved?

This is a strange problem that I have only encountered on a few sites; it is consistently happening on a specific game website (quakelive.com).

Anyway, I have my password for my account saved. When I log in, though, the Firefox does not auto-fill the login or password fields. If I enter the login, it still does not auto-fill the password field. I know that Firefox knows the password, because if I enter the wrong one (as I frequently do), I get a pop-up with something like "Would you like to update the saved password on...?" Well, no, Mr. Firefox, I wouldn't like to update it, but I *would* like you to fill it in if you know it (which you do).

I've checked and double-checked all of the basics in the other articles; I am fairly confident that all of my password and security settings are correct. I rarely have problems on other sites, though I do recall it happening elsewhere before (quakelive seems to be the primary culprit here, and it may be a specific issue with that site). I can always go into the password manager and find it, but that sort of defeats the purpose.

Any ideas?

Keazen oplossing

I believe this is caused by the website.. some websites might purposely make sure that you cannot use autofill, this is usually for security reasons or anti-spam measures.

I face this password autofill not working issue in version 24 for all sites Issue: if the Url/sites has multiple usernames, we can able to select it from dropdown, but when the user name is selected why the password is not getting filled automatically which was already saved earlier, what is the meaning of saving it if it is not getting filled automatically??.

As per me this issue is not related to any setting or cookies, because when i uninstalled this version & installed version 17, it started working fine & again i have installed 24 and it stopped working.

Interesting, I have a copy of V17, I'll install it in the next day or two and see if it is any better for me regarding the password/auto fill problems. If it works ok I'll use it to update and store my passwords because I've some new Yahoo passwords that FF V25 wouldn't offer to save. If my passwords are stored ok in FF then in V25 I can use them by momentarily leaving the Yahoo sign-in page by clicking on 1) Help, 2) About FF and then 3) Close with the red X after which login in with auto complete works, until the next time I need to use it. Steve.
