I have Windows 7 and when I upgraded to FF 23.0.1 I started having issues running FF. It gets hungup and crashes, even in safe mode. I downgraded to FF 22 and the issue went away but it keeps upgrading to 23 even though I set it NOT to automatically upgrade. And even v22 has issues running websites like Twitter that use Java.

Hello,

I'm not aware of any compatibility issues between Firefox 23.0.1 and Windows 7. Given that you are still experiencing the problem in Firefox Safe Mode it seems unlikely that any of your add-ons are causing the issue.

Please could you try doing a Firefox Reset? Use the instructions below. This will return Firefox to its default settings. Your personal information (history, bookmarks etc) will be saved but you will need to reinstall your addons.

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

I hope that helps. Let me know if not.
