When either my system or FF hangs/crashes, and I restart FF, I get the option to select the windows/tabs I want to restart to restore my previous session. A great feature!

However, when I have to update Java or Flash, etc., I have to shut down FF; I want make use of the same feature, and can't seem to find "what button to push in Options' to do it. Is there a configuration parameter that will do what I want?

If you want Firefox to always open with the same tabs you had when you closed it, under Options - General, you can set When Firefox starts: Show my windows and tabs from last time. See the following article for details.

If you want to open your previous tabs manually, click the orange Firefox button in the top left corner, hover over the History submenu, then click Restore Previous Session.
You can also find that option in the History menu, which you can get to by holding down Alt and pressing S

Thanks, that's what I already have set. In reading your reply, I realize the only way for me to do what I want to do is to kill the FF process in Task Manager, then there will be a state memory of what windows/tabs I had open. I realize now that there is probably no other way to do what I originally asked. Thanks again for your help!
