Hello, here’s the problem: I had / have 3 GMX mailboxes in Thunderbird on my PC. After I installed Thunderbird Mobile and spent several hours with it, I deleted all the mailboxes to import them again. Apparently, this also deleted all the mailboxes on GMX, as they are no longer visible there. I also can’t create new ones there, as the old ones seem to still be somewhere in the Background. In Thunderbird Mobile, I restored the mailboxes via import, but they are completely empty! Thunderbird Mobile has no connection to GMX. What can I do? I go to bed...

I'm excited to use Thunderbird mobile, but my IT department doesn't have it whitelisted as an approved application to provide OAuth to. I'm preparing a request to add it, but I wanted to first ask here what, if any, information I should provide to my IT department to make it easy for them to approve Thunderbird mobile as an email client. For instance, if there are any kind of IDs that would go into the OAuth backend or documentation that shows that this is the good ol' Thunderbird you know and love (although the codebase is quite different).

I used maildroid for years but Google has now blocked it wrt email. I discovered Android Thunderbird and installed it. It works fine with my Gmail account (sending and receiving). But maildroid still works for my account hosted on site5.com, but Android Thunderbird doesn't. It silently discards emails sent to external sites. I've been working with site5 support for days now. They finally tried to an external site and observed the problem. They have now been promising their internal advanced support team is working on it, but it has been many days and no success yet. I decided to try K-9 after I discovered it was the code base for Android Thunderbird. It fails in the same way. Then I found this from Jan 2023: https://tinyurl.com/29em92e6 This seems to be my problem exactly, and there was no followup that it was solved. Note that there is no problem with inbound email, only outbound. The outgoing SMTP server is named correctly and configured for port 465, SSL/TLS security, and the email account name on the site5 server is given correctly, and with its correct password. I think this may be broken in the Android Thunderbird and K-9 implementation. (btw, I installed Android Thunderbird on a different Pixel 7 as well, configured it, and it also had the same problem, so it wasn't a phone cache or bad install issue). Help! Thanks!

I would like to suggest a new feature for the Thunderbird Android app: the ability to set up a built-in lock using a password, PIN, or biometric authentication.

This feature is already available in other apps, such as the Ente Auth app and the proprietary email app Spark. It adds an additional layer of security for users, ensuring that even if the device is accessed by someone else, sensitive email information remains protected.

The benefits of implementing this feature include:

1. Enhanced Privacy: Protecting user data from unauthorized access in case of device sharing or loss.

2. User Convenience: Providing an option to secure only the email app without relying on full device locks.

3. Increased User Trust: Demonstrating a commitment to privacy and security, which can attract more users to the Thunderbird app.

This functionality aligns with the privacy-first philosophy that Thunderbird embodies and would be a valuable addition for those who prioritize security in their email management.

Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Best regards.

bold text Hello everybody And sorry for my bad english ... I have an issue with the thunderbird app on my phone ( Asus zenfone 4 , OK it's pretty old ... ) :

When I delete an email , it doesn't go in the trash but is permanently deleted on my phone AND on the server I have said that to the team who is developing the app but i've got the following reply

" This seems like a support issue, and sadly we aren't able to troubleshoot these in our replies. Please reach out for community help at https://support.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird-android and we hope, once your issue is fixed, you might consider updating your review! "

So , I'm hoping for some help here ... thanks for reading

I've installed Thunderbird on my Pixel 9 Pro. I used my Linux Fedora Thunderbird to generate a QR code to get my Android Thunderbird established. Android Thunderbird is working ok but my contacts from the Linux Thunderbird did not come over and writing emails from there is difficult without my contacts. How do I port over the Linux Fedora Thunderbird contacts to my Android Thunderbird?

Do anyone have the same problem. After accepting risk there is working perfect.

I can't find a way to delete a mail folder using the Thunderbird Android mail client. I'm using IMAP to access my mail account, so I'm talking about server side folders, not local ones. I know I can delete them using the desktop version of Thunderbird - but for e.g. a friend of mine that uses mobile devices exclusively for her mails that is not an option. So am I missing something here? Is there any way to delete a folder within Thunderbird Android?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I've recently switched hosting providers (to Hostinger) and also started using Thunderbird (as it offered a better way to transfer emails across from previous provided and have them in same email client).

Since doing that, my sent emails are continually getting blocked (marked as spam) and I have to contact Hostinger support to "unblock" my account. They've done some investigation and suggested that it is something to do with the email Header (they actually said a "missing header"). I've compared what is generated in the header when using the Hostinger webmail vs Thunderbird for Android, and one obvious difference is that there is no X-Sender in the Thunderbird for Android header (it also not present when using Desktop client)

Could this be the cause of the issue? I can't locate where I can ensure X-Sender is included in the Header. Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks

Thunderbird for Android just installed, would love to use this instead of current Outlook client. Long email threads showing as unacceptably indented, down to one letter per line some cases. Occurs TB android but less so Outlook android, and TB desktop. One workaround is to view emails as plain text on TB desktop, they then wrap beautifully. Any plans to allow plain text render on TB android? Or any idea how to view badly indented emails so they fill the pane? Thank you for the good work!
