Installing Firefox via batch file updates program however maintenance service remains at old version
I have followed the instructions here https://wiki.mozilla.org/Software_Update:Manually_Installing_a_MAR_file to update Firefox using the mar files made available. This works fine - firefox is updated and shows as succeeded in the update.status file created. I then run the after install helper process and this updates firefox to the correct version in add/remove programs (before running this step, looks like firefox is upgraded correctly but still showing old version in add/remove programs). If however I click on the maintenance service and look at the version, it still shows the version from which it was upgraded. Everything appears to work fine however I am concerned that this might cause an issue for future updates? If I update firefox manually (by going to Help -> About Firefox), then the maintenance service version is also updated as expected. If I look at the look at the properties of the maintenanceservice.exe program in the firefox folder, it is correct on the latest version. I have tested this on windows xp (32 bit). Any suggestions?

Hi jay_99999, I understand that if you click on the maintenance service that it still shows the version of the previous upgrade. Will this happen in future updates? This I do not know and filing a bug with the steps to reproduce this would go a long way. [bugzilla.mozilla.org]
My only troubleshooting question is:
Does it show up as the wrong version after you restart the computer?
Also what is:
. If I look at the look at the properties of the maintenanceservice.exe program in the firefox folder, it is correct on the latest version.
Cheers.
Thanks for the response. I will create a bug case and go from there.
I can confirm that it still shows the incorrect version of maintenance after rebooting (in Add/Remove programs) however if you look at the maintenanceservice.exe program, it is the correct version.
Thanks
