I just updated to the most recent version of Firefox. If I click on a link I get multiple windows opening, one of which will be the link I want the others will say that I have a virus or there is a security issue. Not sure how to remedy this so, I had to uninstall Firefox all together. My virus scan says my laptop is clean and Chrome doesn't seem to be having these issues. Any ideas? I'd like to get back to using Firefox. Thanks

hello, you have malicious addons present. please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
