Do I have to have an ISP to run Firefox? What about Thunderbird?
Since gmail will no longer accept POP3 from my ISP, I am sending and receiving mail from my ISP so I have no problems. I will like to stay with Firefox for everything and drop my current ISP.

Your ISP short for Internet Service Provider is how you have a internet connection to go online with web browsers (like Firefox) and other programs that go online. You would not have been able to post this question if you did not have a internet connection.

You can use any email service that you want. If you are dissatisfied with the mail service offered by your ISP then you can switch to another mail provider of your choice. You will need an ISP to be able to continue using internet, so either you can continue to use the current ISP or switch to another ISP.
