I am using a PC and have been downloading my mail from gmail. Today Thunderbird would not download and requested I enter a password. The password did not work. I went online and gmail asked me to change my password. Tried to download mail to thunderbird again but the new password was not accepted.

Go to gmail and read about their made up Less Secure Apps. I imagine that their crazy rules are messing with you.
