I'm not sure why I'm asking since I'm replacing my last Windows XP PC by Monday, but...Update to 37.0.1 will not run on my old Windows XP PC except in safe mode. All plugins updated and no extension says it incompatible.

It's possible that hardware acceleration is causing a problem (since Firefox works in start mode but not in regular mode).

Try starting up in safe mode and disabling it. Turning off hardware acceleration
