An updated PDF file will not update. Firefox pulls the cached file from my PC.

I'm using Firefox 38.0.5. I have a website www.legacyresortsmc.com. On the FORMS page you can download PDF files. Several of the PDF files allow user input. Whilst developing the files we used RED markup notes. After development we eliminated the Red markup notes and uploaded the new PDF files.

The forms are active now for clients to download. They do not have RED markup notes. The problem for me is no matter what I do, I cannot get Firefox to REFRESH the download of the PDF forms. It's taking the cached file on my PC and presenting it to me.

I've used all the Firefox suggestions concerning cache and history for the Firefox browser. Internet Explorer retrieves the PDF files just fine

I used a suggestion posted July 9, 2014 at this web address: http://betterbuiltsupport.com/kb/a26/how-to-force-firefox-to-reload-the-page-and-ignore-cache.aspx. No change. Anything you can offer will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

See next post for updated comment on in-browser viewing.

Hmm, are PDFs in the cache? I think it's more likely they are in the Windows TEMP folder. When you "open" a PDF in the browser or an external viewer, Firefox should usually download it to and display it from there. You could bypass that by using Save to save the PDF in the Download folder or another convenient place and see whether that works better.

But what is wrong with the TEMP folder? Hmm...

After further investigation, if you view the PDF in Firefox's built-in PDF viewer (not the best when it comes to forms) or in the Adobe Acrobat plugin, the PDF is indeed stored in the cache.

What methods have you tried for clearing the cache? Maybe try:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
