When I right click on a file Thundebird opens but does not compose mail or attach file
Windows 7. Thunderbird 25.0
When I right click on a file Thunderbird launches, but that is all; it does not start an email message or attach the file. If Thunderbird is already running then nothing seems to happen.
The same thing happens if I try and send a link from Internet Explorer.
Only Firefox correctly launches Thunderbird and starts a new email.

I don't understand what you expect when you "right-click on a file".
Are you looking for a "send to (mail recipient)" option?
I right click on a file and get the SEND TO MAIL RECIPIANT option. Thunderbird launches if not already running. NO COMPOSE EMAIL screen, so the file is not attached.
