I think there is a typo in that domain.

Could you describe where the hijacking occurs? For example:

  • Unwanted start page/home page?
  • Instead of using your selected default search engine, another one is used instead?
  • You get random redirects to an unwanted search page as you browse around the web?

You can double-check your startup and home page setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > General

This is the first editable space on that panel. Is it correct URL or something unwanted?

You can double-check your default search engine setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Search

It should be the first setting on that panel. If it is not set to the correct site, please change it here.

Then click into the Advanced panel to check your connection setting:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab, click the "Settings" button. The default of "Use system proxy settings" should follow the Windows/IE "LAN" setting, but you also could try "No proxy" to see whether that works better.

Any improvement?

Hi, please try working through How to remove ProtectediO Search (Virus Removal Guide) by Malware Tips.

After removal you may need to reset your home page etc., which you can do by running SearchReset.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
