I am setting up Google for search and get Yahoo...why can't I change? I want the screen with last dozen sites I open most often back!
When I open a new tab now I get Yahoo. I want what I had before. I did nothing but restart my computer making no changes and want when I open a new tab to see the dozen screen shots of the popular browser screen shots back. I want my search to go back to google as well. I tried changing it and it stays Yahoo!

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.newtab.url This tells Firefox what to show when a new tab is opened. If you want, right click and select Modify. You can change the setting to;
about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),
or you can enter any web page or about: page you want.
The same instructions are used for the new window setting, listed as browser.startup.homepage.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
