Firefox 44.01 (32 bit) was crashing--so I uninstalled and installed Firefox 64bit--and now lost my bookmarks!

Ever since the 44.01 update, Firefox had become unstable--finally to the point that it would crash immediately upon startup. So I figured I'd update to the 64 bit version--but when I opened it, all my bookmarks were gone! Please help.

I am running Firefox on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Clicking on "show all bookmarks" doesn't bring up anything.

An odd thing was that when I removed 44.01, I had to reboot my machine. Not usually what I had to do when I removed Firefox at other times.
