Why can't I delete a pasted item in a message? When I click on it all the adjustable points (scale, move, etc) are there but I can't delete
The pasted item is a table and it pastes perfectly but if I want to delete in order to select a larger or smaller amount of data I can't delete the item. I have to delete the message and start over. When selected the pasted item shows all the little adjustable boxes in the corners and centers and I can scale and move but not delete.

use the menu.
Format > table > delete
