Using Thinderbird Portable, the USB stick keeps getting smaller despite having Firefox re-directed to cache in a small partition on the sti ck. Thunderbird has the same structure, cache2/entries/ to hold internet and site information but I can find no mention of telling Thunderbird to use a separate location (where cache growth can be curtailed). Firefox about:config is used to relocate the cache/temporary files. CaUsing Thinderbird Portable, the USB stick keeps getting smaller.

Firefox has been re-directed to cache in a small partition on the stick. That constrains its size.

Thunderbird accumulates cache2/entries at an alarmingly fast rate and there is no way to curtail its growth in the profiles folder.

Can Thunderbird about:config be used to keep cache (temporary files) outside of profile?

If so, how?

If not, is there another way?

Can you not limit the cache size by changing the setting in Tools/Options/Advanced/Network & Disk Space/Disk Space?

It appears the method for changing the cache location in Firefox is the same for TB.

Yes, limiting the space would work. Am pleased to know that the about:config functions work for both FF and Thunderbird. Thanks.
