I'm switching from Linux to OS X. Under Linux I have my profile folder symlinked to a network share where my profile resides. I've been using this setup for about 2.5 years without issue.

On OS X I can't seem to utilize my profile on the network drive. I've symlinked the local profile directory to the profile on the network share and I've updated the location profile name in the profile.ini.

When Thunderbird comes up it presents me with the "create a new email" wizard and none of my existing profile information has been loaded.

Is there something else that needs to be configured before Thunderbird will "see" the existing profile?
