My Firefox browser did something strange...

So, this morning my Firefox browser was a bit slow so I closed it and reopened it and at the time it decided to do an update. Once it finished it launched open and suddenly all my settings were gone and replaced with my husbands browser (he uses Mac and I use Windows). My toolbar now has all of his bookmarks on it. How the heck could this even happen? I restarted my pc but still..his Firefox info came up on my computer. Any ideas what could have happened? Thank you for any help/advice.

Maybe you are using a Firefox Account to sync your data and preferences across your computers.

It's hard to see how that could suddenly happen on its own, but one possibility is that you have more than one Firefox profile under your Windows login, and somehow that got switched.

Could you check whether your personal settings are available in a different profile, as follows:

Profile Manager Page

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)

The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:

This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Do you have another profile named default or default-longnumber listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.

If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.

If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.

Any progress so far?
