Currently I am using Thunderbird 78.10.0. It updates by automatically. I have Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them button checked. I am sick of the shortcut being placed on my desktop, its already in my quick launch bar. I am deleting it all of the time.

How can I stop it from updating or at least placing the shortcut on my desktop?
