Authentication failure while connecting to imap.gmail.com after auto upgrade to version 115.3.1 (64-bit)
My TB has been running for years with 2 gmails, 1 outlook and 2 aliyun.com emails mbox.
Days ago the TB upgrade to 115 via auto responding to update check.
however, after upgrade, i cannot connect to gmails ( while outlook and aliyun still ok )
it keeps complaining 'authentication failed'
i check the setting is SSL with Oauth2 that should be correct.
i tried add a new gmail account ( 3rd gmail other than the existing 2 ), i click auto configure in the email setup wizard, it also stuck at checking password. i double check the password is correct.
do you have any idea? how i should approach to fix this issue.

let me update i double check the gmail connection, i use microsoft mail can connect to gmail accounts and read emails. i am wondering if this is a bug for latest TB v115.
i have solved the issue by switching to microsoft outlook.
After the update, ALL 7 of my email accounts (Gmail, server, yahoo) respond with "Sending of password for user XXXXX@GMAIL.COM did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Username and password not accepted." All accounts respond the same, for fetching or sending. I have checked all the server settings in & out, and re-typed them in. The "Enter new password" box does not solve the problem, I get the original error message over and over.
Running Win10
i installed thunderbird 115 on another computer in the same network, also windows 11, that gmail authentication passed and emails can be downloaded.
this let me curious what configuration in the computer that makes my login to gmail via thunderbird failed.
will you have any ideas for troubleshooting?
