Mozilla 5.0 have problems with AVG Free version antivirus?
hello, after I upgraded to 5.0 Mozillacame a warning saying that the antivirus AVG Free Edition, which has my laptop, was not compatible and that it was disabled. is this true? I had the antivirus review the laptop, got a problem and when I want to delete it crashed. I had to wait for it to discharge the battery, start Windows in safe mode and restore the system. Should I install another antivirus? Regards.

AVG Free antivirus is okay.
What is not okay is the "AVG Safe" extension that they install in Firefox. Sounds like you are looking at the Firefox Block list. The extension causes a lot of problems with Firefox and should be remove by reinstalling AVG without the "Link Scanner Component", disabling is temporary applies to only your current profile, and could be activated accidentally.

thank you for your answer, dmcritchie. before my post, I removed Mozilla 5.0 and reinstalled it. Mozilla, automatically removed the AVG Safe extension. after your post I searched it in Complements, it is desactivated . Regards.
This does not address the AVG proble. I have microsoft Vista, was very happy with the 4.0 version, downloaded the 5.0 and was so miserable I uninstalled Firefox. I lost the menu bar therefore could not exit. Followed directions to restore menu bar using ALT, that failed. I was left with a full screen with no way to exit other than rebooting. Then I tried reinstalling Firefox 5, same frustrating problem. I clicked the icon but its selection provided nothing to resolve my problem. So until they get their act together, it's deleted and I'm gone.
hello frustrating5, tou are not the only one with Mozilla 5.0 problems. so many people post to so many Forums asking about solutions. Mozilla 5.0 seems Beta version. you must look for help in others forums, maybe you can find answers.

You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)
