Are you blocking referers in those sites? Blocking referers while navigating within a single site can cause problems. Check the setting in the about:config list for "network.http.sendRefererHeader". If it is 1 or 2, it is fine, but if it is 0, you might want to change it to 1.

Do you have the extension RefControl installed? If so, check its setup. If it is set to block referers, make sure that is only for third party requests.

You should leave this pref at the default to avoid problems.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Cor-el has already explained exactly how to clear the cache and clear cookies for the sites that are problematic. To see the referer setting, type about:config into the address bar and press the return key. To the tongue-in-cheek warning that asks if you are sure, reply "yes". Type "referer" (without the quotes) in the box where the cursor will be when the window opens and change the setting for "network.http.sendRefererHeader" to 2, if it is not already set to 2.
