I can only get gmail after resetting firefox, but if i close and reopen, i cant open it agian
I have firefox 24 running. Gmail and google calendar will not load except in basic mode. This is true when firefox is in safemode as well. If I reset firefox i can get into the sites until I restart the computer, but then i can't load the sites again. I have tried uninstalling firefox and reinstalling, with the same situation. Everytime I restart the computer I cannot get into gmail or google calendar unless I reset firefox.

in this case i think it might be better to start from scratch, to reformat the harddrive & install a clean system again...

hello eshesse, there are two potentially malicious extensions present under firefox > addons > extensions: Addons Engine 3.0.1& Lyrics Seeker 1.131. please keep them disabled or remove them if possible and also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
in addition run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

I have removed toolbars, but I don't find the addon engine anywhere in the add-ons manager. How does one remove an unwanted addon, I have some disabled, but have no idea how to remove them.
I have run malware bytes, avira scan, and Sophos virus removal scan. I should say that this computer was scrambled by the cryptlocker ransomware, and it was removed, but any affected files are apparently unrecoverable.
