How can I copy all my bookmarks from my pc to my netbook
My PC OS is Windows 7 Professional. My Netbook OS is Windows 7 Starter. I use my Netbook only when traveling and therefore do not want to sync it with my PC. I have tried the processes described in Firefox Help. Using the %adddata%\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles question on my PC, I found that the bookmarks on my PC are in C:\Users\WalterSeaton\Appdata\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\dq7osm85.default. On my Netbook the search produces the same file location except that the last section is \r05b5pau.default. Can I copy my PC bookmarks to my Netbook by 1. Copy C:\Users\ . . . \dq7osm85.default to an external hard drive; 2. Change its name to C:\Users\ . . . \r05b5pau.default; 3. Paste from the external hard drive to my Netbook, replacing the existing file?
Or is there another way which does not seem to be covered by the "help" answers. Many Thanks

1. How does the Netbook pick up the HTML file stored on my PC Desktop? They are not connected. Can I copy the HTML file onto an external hard drive and from there onto the Netbook Desktop? And then use IMPORT?
Yes.
2. According to the Help file, when you Export Bookmarks to HTML you erase them from Firefox - is that correct? Because, if so, I can not use your advice because I still need my bookmarks on my PC.
That's not right. We should fix that. Where you do see that?

Line 2 above I had tried before and does not help. I opened line 1 but it seems to deal with transferring bookmarks from Firefox to another browser on the same computer. That is not what I want to do. I want my existing bookmarks to remain in Firefox on my PC and copy them into the Firefox file in my Netbook, which is a separate device and I must therefore "move" the file from one computer to another.
Thanks for your help so far.
Simply try this
Goto Bookmark > Show All Bookmarks >
- Click the button which is like a STAR > Export Bookmarks to HTML
- Save the file in your desktop
Same method in your netbook
- IMPORT Bookmarks from HTML

Thank you
Simple!
- Export to html your bookmarks(the bookmark in firefox wont be deleted)
- send to your email account the html file
- then in your notebook access your account and get the bookmarks(html file)
- go to firefox and import the html file

It is my interpretation of the paragraph in italics at the bottom of the Mozilla Support Firefox "Help" page titled "Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks".
Thank you all for your help - mission acccomplished
