Hotmail messages not loading, long list of blank emails without subject line, thunderbird is constantly loading and acts very slow whenever inbox is selected.
I have used thunderbird for all of my email for several years now. Up until a few days ago, I've had no problems. Suddenly, my hotmail account is no longer loading any email. When I click my hotmail "inbox" folder, my cursor displays a loading symbol as if it were trying to download or display messages, but it does this indefinitely. I apparently still have a long list of messages in my inbox as I can scroll my email list up and down, but there are no visible subjects and I am unable to select any of these messages.
My hotmail "sent" messages folder is working fine in thunderbird. I can see and select all of those emails. My gmail account is also loading properly in thunderbird. I've tried logging into my hotmail account using a browser and that is working correctly as well. All my messages are appearing properly there, they simply won't appear in thunderbird. I've tried shutting down thunderbird, restarting my computer, and uninstalling and reinstalling the program. None of this has fixed my problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try both of the following:
- Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
- Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
- If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
