TB will not get emails after hibernation, restarting TB does not work (no password request), I have to reboot to get email. Suggestions?

If I try to get mail after my computer is awakened from hibernation or sleep, the mail on the server is not downloaded. If I close TB and restart it, I am NOT asked for my password and TB continues to unsuccessfully try to download my email. The only way I can get TB to work properly & download my messages is to reboot my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible fix? (I have uninstalled and reinstalled TB. I am not saving my password and I do not have a master password.)

Try email without anti virus interference. Windows safe mode will allow you to try it out. Sounds like your anti virus simply stays asleep, as it places itself in the processing chain it is always the first possible fault to remove.

Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX

I thought of this possibility. But . . . 1) the behavior just started recently and did not occur previously and I was using the same anti-virus program throughout and 2) I reinstalled my anti-virus program some time after the behavior started and this had no effect on the behavior.
