Hi,

I have an Asus laptop 4B RAM with AMD vision proc running Ubuntu 14.04 (fresh install) and I can't help but notice that Firefox 29 lack it's edge on my computer. I've tried with W7 and same phenomena. Gave a shot at Chrome and Midori, just to be sure and both a very fast, as they should be.

I have gathered evidence that something is strange with Firefox 29 on AMD proc.

Here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997790 And here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/998789

People have reported that it was slow on their machine as well, but user having AMD proc.

Plus, we are running a Windows 7 PC at home with a Intel proc and Firefox 29 is very fast and works pretty well.

I writte this in support thread because I believe there is something amiss here. I hope you guys could take a look at this and fix it.

Thanks!

Firefox runs the same on comparable AMD and Intel processors. However, AMD processors are usually lower quality and slower.

There are likely other causes at play, and MAD is just a coincidence. Try reading Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

You see the problem is that Google Chrome works perfectly well on my computer. It's blazing fast.

I've made clean installs of Win7 and Ubuntu 14.04 (which resets Firefox anyway) and same thing: Firefox lack it's edge.

I have an older Dell inspiron laptop at home and Firefox is much faster on it. That's very strange.

I may have to find a new browser for my Asus laptop then.. Really that's unfortunate because I am a fan of Mozilla but it just don't offer a great experience on this computer.

What is slow about Firefox? Startup? Page loads? Something else?
