I get "authentication failed" trying to access incoming.verizon.net with correct email addr/password
Went to Account Settings | Server Settings | Security Settings. (Don’t know how.) Changed Authentication Method from “Encrypted Password” to “Password, transmitted insecurely”. It started working.
This is an answer, not a question. I don't know how to post an answer..

I do, but on checking your profile there is no other threads you have created or replied to. So I am guessing you have created a new user account on the site to make this reply.
