I would like to disable bookmark suggestions showing up as I type into the URL bar.
Every time I type into the URL (Awesome Bar?) my bookmarks show up as suggestions beneath it. I would like to disable this somehow.

You can change the data that is show in the address bar by changing the Location Bar preference in the privacy settings see the bottom of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/settings-privacy-browsing-history-do-not-track
I'm sorry that I didn't specify. I would like to be able to disable the bookmark suggestions within the mobile app. I checked and I do have the desktop setting at "Tell sites I do no want to be tracked."
This question is tagged as Mobile, but you posted with a desktop computer and Windows 7.0 according to the user agent.
What platform is your question about?
You can completely disable this drop-down list by setting the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults to 0.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Forgive me for posting through my laptop. My moble app doesn't respond as fast as I like. I did try doing your fix, cor-el, in the mobile app. While I was able to change the value, even after rebooting, the drop-down list of bookmarks appears. If it matters, I run a rooted galaxy S5 running kitkat 4.4.2 with the latest version of the Firefox mobile app.
