Hi,

I just migrated to Firefox on my wife's computer. She was an IE user and the bookmark star has us confused. What I would like to do is when I click the star once, I want the list of where to put the bookmark to show up. If you forget and click the star once the bookmark is stored in the Unsorted bookmarks folder. Why make me click the star twice to get to where I want to place the bookmark? Personally I see no use for the unsorted bookmark feature/folder at all, but I would like to avoid the double click.

Thanks for your help!

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

The star is meant for situation where you want to easily bookmark pages that have opened in a tab. Then you don't want to be bothered with choosing a folder or otherwise make an edit. That is why you need to click the highlighted star a second time. You can use "Bookmark This Page" (F10: Bookmarks menu or Ctrl+D) to get a dialog.
