How could I remove older versions of Adobe Acrobat?
I am getting a screen that says I need to update Adobe Acrobat & try to update. I get a message that I have latest version. I go to the "more" & click on & then click "update now" & get the screenshot that says version 9.5 has been blocked. Does this mean I have an older version installed on my PC? Please take a look at my 2- screenshots & tell me what I can do.
Thank you

Please visit this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
In the Potentially vulnerable plugins you'll find Adobe Acrobat. Because Acrobat 11.0.08 is already published.
After the name of your plugin you'll see red Update now button, click on it. Which will redirect you to the update page.
For some reason, Adobe does not support Reader XI/Acrobat XI on Vista. To make sure Reader X/Acrobat X is as up-to-date as possible, use the Help menu inside the Adobe product and Check for Updates. After that, please exit Firefox and start it up again and check the new version number on the Add-ons page. I think it will be closer to 10.1.13 or higher, and hopefully that will resolve the issue.
The System Details list shows only one Adobe Reader plugin:
- Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.4
The plugin check page doesn't differentiate between various Windows versions, so if you can't update your current AR version of AR within the Adobe Reader then you can ignore the update now message on the plugin check page. Note that Adobe doesn't offer all versions as a full version on its download page (Vista full:10.1,4; latest update:10.1.13)

Note: Adobe Reader XI is not officially supported on Windows Vista but can still be installed. See the Adobe forum thread Reader XI not available for Windows Vista. Why? for more information.

I realize I have the latest Adobe X reader installed for Vista. My only real concern now is concerning the second screenshot I sent you. Is the message telling me that at least a part of Adobe Reader 9.5.1 or lower has been blocked and is this something I should look into in order to remove the older reader or not?
Thanks

Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
See Re-initializing the plugins database:
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Hi hgw53t, I didn't see the older Acrobat plugin in your screen shot of the Add-ons page so I'm not sure why you got that particular message about the older version. If you scroll to the bottom of the Plugins section of the Add-ons page where the disabled plugins are listed, is it down there?
