When I viewed my e-mails on the left hand of the screen; the e-mail opened on the right side of the screen. Somehow I turned off the tab and now when I click on the e-mail I have to go to a different screen to read the e-mail. How do I fix this?

We need a bit of clarity over what "e-mail" means.

Accounts? Messages? Addresses?

Tools|Options|Advanced|Reading & Display lets you select between a message opening in:

  1. a tab;
  2. its own window;
  3. an existing window.

Also, go to View|Layout and choose between the three offered layouts. Also you may want Folder Pane (on this same sub-menu) checked to make your accounts visible in a left-hand pane.

The directions above assume you can see a menu. If you can't, hold down the <alt> key to make it appear temporarily.
