After the latest Firefox update no web pages would open. I tried using internet explorer and it worked fine so it isn't an internet connection problem. I uninstalled Firefox and tried re-installing but it has been sitting on the 'downloading Firefox...' window for hours and won't install. Help please?!

Hi, try uninstalling completely - Uninstall Firefox from your computer - you should be able to keep your user data and settings.

Then download from mozilla.org

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

I did completely uninstall it from my laptop but now it won't install again. For some reason I am having the same problem with google chrome - web pages won't load there either. But everything's working fine with internet explorer

Try the full offline setup for Windows instead of the online stub installer.

This is the Systems&Languages link in green download box on mozilla.org

Ok I have managed to re-install it using a different link but web pages still won't load. It just says 'connecting...' at the top but nothing happens. I have no idea why this is happening because it was working fine yesterday

Yesterday I tried updating adobe flash player in firefox and it wouldn't work so I cancelled the download - could that have caused it to stop working?

Hmm, don't know, but you could try reinstalling Flashplayer.

Note, it is essential to only download Firefox from Mozilla as linked to above, since from other sources it may come bundled with unwanted and possibly malicious junk.

The link I used to download firefox was genuine and from the Mozilla site. When I tried updating or reinstalling flashplayer it said 'initializing installation' and just stays on that screen too. I'm having issues with Microsoft Office now as well and am online with one of their staff so I think it might be an issue with my laptop.
