Latest update has messed up my Thunderbird
Thunderbird updated a couple of days ago - but now when I launch I get a page that says "Thunderbird Mail - Local Folders" offering the following sections "ACCOUNTS" and "ADVANCES FEATURES" The left column shows my folders but I cannot access them unless I select Open in New Tab. And even then I cannot create a new message.
What is wrong and how do I go back to the way it worked before?

This is what the home screen looks like. I cannot get rid of the right panel and cannot open folders except in a new tab.
Sorry - file upload did not seem to work. Here is same image as a jpeg file.
Actually, I just downloaded Thunderbird again and it cleared up all the problems.
