I am using Linux Mint 17.2 xfce. The Firefox that I use is 42.0 Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint Mint - 1.0. The Shockwave Flash is 11.2r202. The Flash browser game is DarkOrbit ( www.darkorbit.com ). The game was working fine until about 2 months ago.

I log into the game (as before) and get onto the back page without any problem. When I click on "Start" to go to the game client, the computer screen is black. The browser tab written game client flashes twice. Please note everything works fine when I use Chromium Web Browser. Darkorbit works fine with Firefox on Windows.

There is a way to use the Pepper Flash used in Chrome/Chromium by using the freshplayerplugin wrapper.

Your Linux distro may have related packages to do this.

Otherwise you can use Chrome or Chromium for this one site and use Firefox for everything else.

Google Chrome comes with its own Pepper based version of the Flash plugin. Adobe only provides security updates for the Flash 11.2r202 NPAPI version that Firefox uses. If the website has changed its requirement and no longer works with Flash 11.2.202.* version then you will have to use Google Chrome that supports the latest Flash version.
