I am trying to switch from Outlook for Mac to TB on a Mac Book Pro. I use a company email account that is IMAP. I need to be able to send and receive emails from multiple devices (mac book, iPad, iPhone). I have been able to get inbox to sync across all devices but not the sent folder. Emails sent from mac book end up in the Sent folder while those sent from mobile devices (as well as my previous sent emails from Outlook) end up in Sent Items folder. It's a pain to have to search in two folders when I assume all sents can end up in the same folder and I just don't have it set up correctly. I have experimented with the "place a copy in" function in Account Settings but it only allows Sent as an destination and not Sent Items. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am a new user on TB but so far I am very happy with how much better it is than Outlook or Mail. Thanks!

Right click the account in the folder pane, select settings. Select copies and folders for the account and specify the correct sent folder to use.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have Settings as an option to select but was able to get to it via Tools and Account Settings. However it does not allow me to copy to the "Sent Items" folder where the emails sent via my phone are located, only to the separate folder named "Sent." Trying to get every email I send to be copied to one folder, regardless of what device it is sent from. Seems like this should be pretty common.

Ok use subscribe instead of settings and make sure you are subscribed to the appropriate folder.

This is fairly common, it is a matter of setting up all devices correctly to use the sent folder the server uses. If the subscribe option does not have the server folder the other devices are using, you need to fix them to match the server, not fix Thunderbird
