Thunderbird works but I have to use Task manager to close out of the program. On TM I see 4 thunderbirs running and 2 other TB programs going. The close msg brings up notice of "waiting for one of my emails to update". Aslo when it starts up you see the top toolbar blink multiple times.

Also did a cold boot and still have the same problem.

I also tried a new install to no avail.

Can I delete the TB and reinstall AND NOT lose all my book marks?

"Book marks?" I am never sure what people mean by that in the context of email.

Your settings, accounts, stored messages, address books, extensions and customizations are all stored separately from the Thunderbird program itself. They are designed to survive and persist if you uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird.

Ultimately, your OS launches Thunderbird (on your behalf) and it's hard to see why multiple instances could be caused within Thunderbird itself. However, in the past certain add-ons have been known to cause similar issues.

Try running Thunderbird in its Safe Mode to eliminate add-ons.
