Dragon naturally speaking 14 seems incompatible with Thunderbird. Can this be corrected?

I use Thunderbird 38.6.0 and it does not allow me to use Dragon naturally speaking professional 14 to dictate anything at all which will show up in an address or a message for any email I wish to write. This is a pity. Is there anything that I anybody else can do about it?

Did you read this post? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1032967 It concerns Dragon 13 rather than 14 but I wonder if the issue is the same. (I use completely different software to you so I can't replicate the problem and have never encountered it, but I thought this might be some help.)
