Google calendar events deleted with Google calendar continue to show up in Thunderbird. Error message asking to update server or dismiss fail. App hangs.

Two calendar events created in Google Calendar and subsequently deleted in Google calendar (either from web browser or iPhone) continue to resister within Thunderbird. Dialog boxes asking to dismiss or snooze for these two events persist. No action will prevent the dialog box from continually displaying (or closing the dialog box - just pops back). Selecting the event detail and attempting to delete within that dialog box does not remedy. Similarly, dialogue box per each event stated the calendar item "has recently been changed on the server. Submitting your changes will overwrite the changes made on the server." Choices of "Submit my changes anyway" or "Discard my changes and reload" both fail. Any action results in do-loops of dialog boxes persisting; I have to pull up the email app process and kill it. Cannot access any options in the app for configuraiton change. Assuming I need instructions on how to boot the app without loading calendar or profile and then un-sync / delete Google Calendar and force reload?

How are you connecting your Google calendar with Thunderbird? Personally I use CalDAV and have never had any problems. There's guidance here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1097284
