update Firefox on a 2006 macbook pro - hardware limitations - can't see emails on hotmail/outlook
I'm running Firefox 12.0 and things are ok, except for some websites, itunes and now Outlook just did an upgrade and I can no longer see any of my mails. I updated Firefox in the past and everything went to chaos-town. I had to undo it all and lost an entire day. Is there an update I can do on a ten year old macbook pro that will give me some functionality and let me use email again?

A lot has changed since Firefox 12 that websites assume will be functional, so over time, these complex sites will probably work less and less well.
Are there any stand-alone mail applications for your OS? You can use the IMAP protocol with Outlook Mail, but it only syncs mail and not contacts/calendar.
I can see the messages on my phone, but I need to be able to send large files and photos for work - as well as see mail history and contacts. This is a big problem and I'm not having any luck solving it so far. Do you know if this laptop can handle an update? Weirdly when I go to 'about' Firefox, it says it's updated! I think the current version of Firefox is somewhere in the 40s. I haven't had any luck with my messages to Outlook.
Thanks for helping me think.
Firefox 16.0.2 was the last to run on a Intel Mac with OSX 10.5 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-x-10-5
Firefox 17.0 to the current 48.0 can run on OSX 10.6 and for Firefox 49.0 it will require OSX 10.9 at minimum.
