I had to wipe my computer and reinstall Firefox. I had made a backup of the hard disk and found in AppData\Roaming\ Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles a number of .jsonlz4 backup files. I copied the last of these into the new Profile that Firefox has just created but the bookmarks aren't appearing. I have successfully done something like this before. I'm obviously not doing it wright now.

Firefox doesn't do an automatic restore after it has already created the places.sqlite file. You can do the restore manually by following the steps in this article: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer.

Does that work with your backup file?
