Hello!

I have managed to delete all the message from my Yahoo server and from Thunderbird (which I've only started using).

I manually made a copy of my Profile with all my old emails. The profile is nearly 8 gigabytes (I know -- it's a big mess), and I've tried copying it into my new Appdata/Roaming/Profiles. But when I open Thunderbird, it has only the new emails that have arrived since I accidentally deleted my messages.

Is there any way to restore my old emails to Thunderbird?

Thanks,

Ed

when you copied... did it ask to replace files?

I don't believe it did; I must have put in in the wrong place.

I uninstalled Thunderbird, tried again, and it tells me "Configuration could not be verified -- is the username and password wrong?" It tells me this whether I select the IMAP or the POP option.

The password isn't wrong -- I copied and pasted it, but since Thunderbird can't set up the account without logging in, I can't see if the backup problem is fixed.

I seem to have managed to deepen my problem.
