Why are there orange and green tabs in FF56 and how do I change them

more options

I just downloaded FF 56 and the tabs are bright green and bright Orange......

I tried changing them in an appearance add on but no luck.

Is this the way it is and will it stay in FF 57?

Thank you

Elliot

Hi Elliot, that seems strange. Firefox usually tried to adapt to your OS, and those just don't sound like an Apple aesthetic.

Do you use any tab-related extensions that could have gone haywire, such as Tab Mix Plus or Colorful Tabs? Anything else that modifies the appearance of the user interface? You can view, disable, and often remove extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions that Firefox installs on its own are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything tab-related or UI-altering? If in doubt, disable.

Sometimes a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox before the change takes effect. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?

Hi,

Thanks for responding.

I didn't find anything in the extensions that was a problem. The only one close was the theme font and size changer but there was no difference when I disabled it.

I had attached a screenshot of the tabs. Never seen anything like this but it is too distracting to work with.

Did you check selected theme under appearance as well?

  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance

You can also check if you have an userChrome.css file in the chome folder in the profile folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Could the color indicate some kind of reputation or security rating?
