I am logged into my account at Mozilla, but can't remember my password. I tried to change it under profile, but I can't do that without my old password. Can I get my existing password emailed to me to my email I have here on Mozilla?

You managed to post this question.

Is this about the SUMO account you used to post this question or is this about the Firefox Sync account?

If it is about this forum then open a New Private Window and login to this account and reset the password to have you send a new password. That way you are still logged in in your regular window in case you aren't able to complete the password reset.

Open the Password Manager and look it up.

Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar.

Under Logins, Turn on Remember Logins. To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins.

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

I have a whole address book (like in the old days!) of my user names/passwords...however, what I have for Mozilla is apparently not right as I have right user name and email, but the password I have writen down is not working. Where do I go to find password manager? Plus.. I don't want Mozilla or anything else to store all my passwords. I just want my user ID/name stored. I will enter my password to each site. I don't want my passwords to be automatically input

I don't want to save passwords, just the login/User names

If the Password Manager will not work properly, use a form filling add-on.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Hi coffeebreaker, I suspect your support password is not saved anywhere and in order to choose a new one you'll need to use the reset option.

Right-click the following link and open it in a private window (so it is not affected by the fact that you're logged in in a regular window):

https://support.mozilla.org/users/pwreset

(Which is what cor-el said earlier...)

Note that you will be logged off if you would do anything that affects the cookie that is used by the website to remember you. That is why I suggested to use a New Private Window window. A PB mode window (tab) uses a separate cookie jar, so you only need to close the PB mode window and go back to the tab in the regular window and you are once again logged in to the website (you may have to refresh the page).
