I want to keep using Thunderbird (52.5.0) as my mail client on my home-office pc, running Windows 10. At our head office we just started using Outlook calendar function (Office 365, exchange-server) and I need to find a way to synchronize these two calendars. I.e. when my colleagues add activities to their Outlook calendar I need it to be shown on my Thunderbird calendar and vice versa. Looking forward to a positive answer on this matter!

Fellow contributor Matt gave some advice on this a while ago.

I don't know how much of that is current. The EWS add-on in particular may have died. :-(

The test error message will be from your setting and server names. I only had the free outlook.com to work with. I refuse to pay for Office 365.

This Microsoft support thread discusses how to locate the EWS URL for your account. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/29c2d40e-3958-4a84-a9f1-46c078ac5e77/exchange-365-online-and-web-service-ews?forum=onlineservicesexchange

Thank you Matt, for advice. My "Test error message" above was sent since I kept getting "Error message when trying to post into the forum. I still get it why is that?

Matt here is my comment to your advice: With a combination of your tutorial on https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.se/2016/10/outlook-calendar-in-thunderbird.html and from https://intra.kth.se/en/it/support/guider/kalender-och-schema/kalender-i-thunderbird-lightning-1.327097 I have a partly working solution. I can see activities my colleague’s have added in Outlook. But they can't see activities I have added in my Thunderbird Calendar. (I spoke with our technical support but they are more interested in having me changing to Office 365 but I’d rather stick with Mozilla if possible.) In the EWS Calendar and Mail settings I have a the following – please see enclosed jpg “Screenshot 1”. Do I need to make some special settings in the panel for my Job-calendar, invitations to my colleagues, password, login etc? Awaiting help – thanks!

Your personal calendar is a local calendar, A default local calendar is what is created on install. I see no plug icon beside it like the others yo indicate it is an EWS linked calendar. Remove it and add it again to Thunderbird the same way you added the other calendars.

If you can not remove it, add yourself another one using the EWS process and rename the existing one to something else so you can watch out where you add things.
