I want to talk to a human being about how to get Firefox on just my desktop computer. I don't want to "sync" it to anything else, but I haven't found an option to do just that. Why isn't there a phone number for a live person?

Hello,

Firefox is a free browser and Mozilla (the company behind Firefox) doesn't have the financial means to run a call center.

This is the official Mozilla support forum - the contributors here are (for the main part) volunteers, users just like you, who are trying to help other users in their spare time.

If you could explain what your problem really is  ?

You say : "I want to talk to a human being about how to get Firefox on just my desktop computer. I don't want to "sync" it to anything else, but I haven't found an option to do just that "

According to your system details you have Firefox version 59.0 installed, and you don't have to sync your devices if you don't want to.

Any questions you may have : just ask away, and I'm sure that somebody will come up with a proper answer  !

Sync is an option if you want to share data between systems/profiles.
