I've used Thunderbird successfully for years but today I can't log in to my ATT account to retrieve or send e-mail. Every time I try, there's a long pause and then a message that there's something wrong with my account info... though nothing has changed in that regard. I tried resetting my password at ATT and that worked fine for their webmail app, but Thunderbird still can't log in. I did a clean install of Thunderbird on my Win 7 Pro system and got the same result. Current Thunderbird version is 52.9.1 (32-bit).

Getting a different password for the e-mail client as recommended above solved the problem for exactly one use. Next AM, back to being denied access on Tbird though I can use the webmail interface. What now?

I got some help from the ATT forum. The winning combo seemed to be in line with the post above this one. Thanks!

TBird worked fine yesterday but this AM I'm SOL: can't log on and get e-mail with TBird but Yahoo web interface works fine. I verified that the new pass code is correctly entered for incoming and outgoing server settings in TBird. Now WTF?
